Where did you first hear about Dale Carnegie training?

I accepted an invitation to meet with a Dale Carnegie consultant after seeing a presentation at the BAR Annual Conference.

What was the business need that prompted you to work with DC?
My primary interests were to find something to:

  • Improve my communication style and confidence in order to increase my profile within PHS and the various committees where I needed to show up powerfully.
  • Find new ways to motivate my team to take ownership of their business area, so that I could lead more and "manage" less.
  • Become better at delegation in order to free up my time to work on the business strategy.

Andreya's primary interests were to find something to:

  • Help her delegate more of her workload to free up her time to work on major accounts.
  • Give her confidence to speak up in meetings so that the team could profit from her input.
  • To build her presence in front of clients so that she felt happy to go on appointments alone.

Why was this so important for the PHS Teacrate?

In order to grow the business organically, I needed to be more of a leader and less of a manager.

What were the results you were looking for?

A motivated and forward thinking team who were ready for growth.

What solution did Carnegie provide?

Dale Carnegie Course - Effective Communications and Human Relations for Andreya and myself.

What impact did that have? What results were created?

We each created a vision and action plan at the start of the course. Then, week by week we made workplace commitments to try something differently outside of the sessions. As the course went on we both found that we had made incremental changes in the way that we communicated with the team and clients. We both continue to make changes in the way we work as the business demands. We both feel more confident in our roles. I show up more powerfully in senior management business meetings and I am respected within the business as a whole.

How did you measure that?

We are continuing to exceed sales targets. The business is growing.
