Leadership Training for Managers Programme

'The Leadership for Managers programme gave me a clearer understanding of the differences beween what makes a good manager and what makes a good leader, as well as allowing me to form a more explicit picture of my role and how it fits into the Mace Infrastructure Team.

The 'Innovation Process' had the biggest impact on me. It's a simple nine-step process that can be applied to almost any situation where there is an opportunity to create or improve. Dale Carnegie says: 'If we always do what we have always done, we will always get what we have always got!''

'It made you think, it made you work, and it made you analyse the way you act!

The modular format made sure that the message was reinforced regularly over a period of time. We had weekly homework and weekly presentations to our peers so we were forced to put the structured learning into practice to convince our colleagues that we had learnt something. By the end of the programme you have lots of hands-on experience.

I do look at things differently now - I see the other side of arguments more, I am more positive and stress management seems easier. I would strongly reccommend others to attend this programme but be warned - don't go in with any preconceived ideas. Be open, and most importantly listen and you'll quickly see the benefits.'
